Oil Painting on canvas
I don’t use color much in my work because I’m not done experimenting with grey. Scientists tell us that black is the absence of all colors and white is the presence of all colors, so I consider grey to be what exists between absence and presence. That idea works with my preferred subject; the human figure. I usually use oil paints as it’s a very malleable material, allowing me to experiment with various techniques. I depict figures that contain atmospheric monotony, I attempt to present a frozen moment in time, usually in an anonymous place, trying to reveal the human vulnerability we tend to deny.
