Design Field Guides - Adobe Creative Residency: Project Proposal
On the deadline to apply for the Adobe Creative Residency 2019, I decided to work on a proposal for a project that I've had in mind for a few months now: Design Field Guides. Inspired by the field notes notebooks by Aaron Draplin, and the IBM guides, this project is an opportunity to share knowledge with both designers and their clients. With a few pages of information about an specific design topic, and blank pages to explore and get creative, the Design Field Guides are the perfect pocket companion.
With this project, I want to focus on bringing value to students and junior designers, but also to their clients, to whom they can give these notebooks to, so they also learn about the design process, the basics of typography, or sustainable design.
The fact that I have put this proposal together and submitted it on the last possible day has also inspired me to film and post on YouTube a video of the process (check it out here).
Below, you can see my final presentation, which includes the information that Adobe requests, as well as some added slides that I saw on previous years' proposals.
There's no losing when it comes to creating a project proposal like this. If I get chosen by Adobe, I'm aware of the amazing benefits that I will get through the Residency. If not, I'll work on this project to demonstrate to myself that I can do it without help! Either way, I win :D.
