Fractal Birds

I made this sculpture for my Spatial Dynamics class taught by Gareth Jones at RISD. It was in response to the assignment of creating individual planar fractals (complex patterns made of one object, but with different scales), then putting them together to create "positive space". As an added challenge, Gareth proposed that I try to make birds out of them, as my initial fractal designs reminded him of M.C. Escher's work.
