Sinuo chair

In a bright color and elegant shape, the Sinuo chair represents the movement and power of the river and thus brings a natural element to your home.

The idea of the chair, inspired by the meanders of river, brings a combination of minimalist vision and decorative, even ornamental aesthetics. Its transparent shape creates a light and elegant structure made of only one material. It can be used with soft, foam squares that are easy to wash. The Sinuo chair was created as a solitary furniture made by manual method of bending metal under high temperature. Product is suitable for both interior and exterior.

Concept was originally created during a short workshop with amazing Eric Jourdan, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia, and finalized as my bachelor project (2019).

I had a vision and the right people around me. Sinuo chair is my personal favourite project and people reacts very positively. The chair also won first award Cena Prof. Jindricha Halabaly 2019 - due to not only a nice appearance, but also a sustainable approach in my design - chair is made of only one material - steel. The project was implemented due to many qualified Slovakian craftsmen. Many thanks to them, and especially to Mr. Gustinko.

Process

I remember the time when I started experimenting with a whole bunch of materials and trying to bend them into "meanders". It was not entirely clear at the time. Later, when I showed the visualization to some artisans, they actually laugh ... ,, it's not possible, too thin, it's not good or what is it? what is it for? sitting? no way...´´
