    Douwe Egberts YCN Competition entry 2013. Rebranding Douwe Egberts coffee range.

The brief was to make Douwe Egberts, a well-known traditional coffee brand appeal to a new audience of coffee drinkers. The target audience was people ages 18-35, the type of people who are more likely to buy and drink in coffee shops. Douwe Egberts wanted to emphasis the age of the company, keeping their traditional values but creating a modern and current shelf presence that rival other competitors. 
 
The typography style and fonts I have chosen reflect the traditional aspects by telling the story of the company, but the layout of the type and the striking colour palette gives it a modern edge that would stand out and be different to any other coffee brand design out there at the moment.
