Through the interplay of images and sounds, A Glimpse into the Work of Errol Specter approaches the creative world of a multidisciplinary artist and his current work at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, California. Directed and produced by audiovisual artist Ricardo Velasco, this short film captures the intricate processes of leather arts and craftsmanship, offering a glimpse into the work of Mr. Specter in counterpoint with his powerful reflections on the relationship between art and spiritual experience.

About the Artist.
 
Errol Specter is a multifaceted artist working in music composition, photography, painting, and leather arts. He was born in 1947 in Milford, Connecticut, and grew up in New York. After serving in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, he moved to California and started his career as a freelance artist. Since 1974, he has been living in Ben Lomond and is currently associated with the Tannery Arts Center, where he has his workshop. His creativity has taken many directions: He is an accomplished new-age composer with 19 albums to date, as well as a sound artist who has recorded and produced his own albums. He is also a fine artist and craftsman working with oils and acrylics since 1968, in photography since 1966, and in leather arts since 1973. At present, he is the only artist and craftsman that uses leather as a means of expression at the Tannery Arts Center. His creativity, especially his music, currently gravitates around introspective meditation and enlightenment.
