The Trudo Vertical Forest will be the first Vertical Forest adopted by a social housing project. It is therefore destined for use by low-income social groups, particularly young people with an urban lifestyle. The 19 floors of the Tower will house apartments rented out at affordable rates and graced by balconies with hundreds of trees and plants in a wide variety of species.
It takes its name from the traditional recreational cabin called "cabana", that is commonly built in the tropical climates near natural bodies of water. Its original aim was to provide shade during hot summer days and let the wind run smoothly through the structure to cool it down. These key characteristics were moulded into the new contemporary language to create Casa Cabana.
Its transparent structure provides an uninterrupted 360-degree view of the beautiful tropical landscape around the villa. Four cross-shaped pillars are holding a light roof to create a levitating effect. Frameless windows don’t reach the ceiling to provide enough room for the wind to freely move through the villa, bringing a pleasant summer breeze inside.
