Growing Old in Beppu

    A couple of weeks ago, my wife, daughter and I dropped by in Beppu, a small town in Oita prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. I went there to accompany my wife to meet her professor from the university where she studied a few years back whom she looks up to.   
    While in Beppu, we spend time traveling around the city. Beppu itself is famous for the onsen (hot springs), where we can find them at almost every block. This city is very neat and quiet, compare to other big cities in Japan, I seldom found people rushing around or even young people. Instead, the people I met are mostly elders and senior citizens everywhere. They often walk alone though unsteadily, waiting for trains, taking bus or even cycle. 
    Those were very interesting and astonishing views for me, and each opportunity I tried to catch the moment, and here are some of the photos:
