Beritru the Brutal is a powerful Inferno dragon, the most feared in all the lands. However, she begins to rethink her path when a lone knight breaks her heart. She vows to change her legacy, but she doesn't know how she will.
Generations later, Beritru meets a boy named Vonrael. In him, she finds a chance to atone for all her wrongs against the humans. In the dragon, Vonrael finds a patient teacher. Beritru trains him to use the fire magic that she herself gave up so long ago. Their happiness is short-lived in the war sweeping across the realm.
Beritru sends Vonrael out into the world with little more to his name than a suit of armor, a blank shield, and a purpose: to end the war between the humans and dragons, and to sow the seeds of peaceful coexistence.
Now a young mage with the fate of two races on his shoulders, Vonrael battles against his own emotions and the perception of his identity as he makes his way to the king. With encouragement from his friends and the help of a few dragons, Vonrael slowly overcomes his doubts. But will that be enough to end the war?
This is not just the story of a boy and his dragon. It is a story of loss, profound grief, and one young man's journey to find peace.
