Shaped is a story of a boy who left home wanting to be different only to find out not belonging anywhere is as painful. When we created the story we wanted it to be open to interpretation. We wanted the story to mean differently to different people. The story is told only through shapes and music. There is no dialogue because we wanted music to be their language.
This is what we ended up with
The challenge with our concept is we wanted to tell a story only through shapes and music. So we decided to go with a more irregular shape than a geometrical one to show that each shape is an individual. The design also allows the character to bend, squash and stretch to show emotion.
Using bend, squash and stretch to show the character's emotions
