Market in "Gargzdai"
The project is being developed in the Lithuania city of Gargzdai, in the current market area. The current market consists of temporary tents, mobile homes, hangars. There are car parking problems wich are still unsolved. In this project are highlighted the main services of the current market. The market is made up of 3 volumes-market building, a commercial building and multi-storey car park. A- the market is one storey building with skylights mirroring surrounding buildings. B-commercial building-is two storey with atrium. In the first floor of the building the motive of triangular windows goes into the triangular of the market building skylights. C-the multi-storey car park are on the ground floor together with commercial space designed in the inner market courtyard. Also in the plans are to make a new street. The street purpose will be to provide service for the new complex. The tree alley are dividing the market from shops and car park. The decorations of buildings is based on a Gargzdo stone motive, that relates to the origin of the city’s name.
