🎙 The "Do Not Use Money" project arrived thanks to my Rep in Spain, the Mushroom Company. It was lots of fun due to the creative freedom and having the chance to be part of a project with designers I really like.
Having lots of freedom to propose, my idea was to think about the concept of not needing money. This reminded me of all those objects that become obsolete as a consequence of paying directly from your digital platforms.

With a comic perspective and using the brand's color palette, the idea was to create a contrast between what happens with the purses and wallets that feel lost (greys and beige colors) and those who are following the new update (the green ones).

In a way, this is the reality we live in with technology. Or we learn, or we become like these wallets :)

Luckily, the Agency liked mi proposal and I was able to continue this path!
In this image, you can see the purse try to use the wallet as a tactile screen. Both confused, the purse touches her head and the wallet opens his arms. They don't understand what's happening!

All the creativity was around the claim Do not use money. They worked on the letterings that coexisted with the digital payment device.

I'm from Madrid but live in Peru so it's always exciting to see my work in the streets of my hometown! 😅
These were my first sketches. In the beginning I was planning to do a hand composition in between letters. But as I kept testing, it seemed a bit too simple and the message of the hands would not come through strong enough.
That's when the "obsolete" concept appeared. Below you can check the first character tests. I thought this was a better plan. And the Agency told me previously the client would not want coins, bills or any form of money so it made more sense.
