LA, short for Liviu Avasiloiei, is my personal branding exploration. It’s an identity with multiple personalities and reflects who I am as a creative: adaptable, dedicated, always exploring new visual grounds and looking to create meaningful work.
Over the years, I’ve tried too many times to create an identity for myself. But the challenge of choosing a style and defining what I wanted to tell the world about me and my work was intimidating. Looking around for inspiration I realized it was a daunting process not just for me, but for many other designers. So I decided to change the approach and rewrite the problem I was trying to solve. I was looking for a logo that had the potential to become a statement and could reflect the multidisciplinary aspect of my work.
That’s how the idea of an identity with distinctive personalities was born; one for each of my creative personas, an exploration of the visual aesthetics I can embody in my work.
For each LA iteration, I aimed to integrate the idea of adaptability and transformation. Using nature as my inspiration, I've experimented with shapes, colors and textures. The result is a compilation of utterly unique logos, each one developed into a brand, with its own voice, character and visual style. This gives me the possibility to choose how to present myself and adapt depending on the opportunity.
From a simple identity, LA became my bildungsprojekt.
It made me look deeper into my style, the way I approach branding and communicate with clients. It was a struggle, but it made me discover a lot about myself and better understand the branding process. This is not the end. LA will continue to grow with me reflecting my achievements, work ethic, and design beliefs.
