This is a really important picture for me, because I’ve wanted to capture this scene for four years now. I was born and grown up in the eastern half of Hungary and as I ride home I always go through this bridge that is over the river Tisza. My brother used to do this too, when he was going to his university. He didn’t like Budapest and as soon as he was riding home to Debrecen, he felt relieved when the train reached this point. „Whenever I got to this point, I knew I would always find my home from here” –he told me and since this I feel the same too. I’ve made so many photos and videos about getting across the river, but somehow I never felt I could capture what it really means to me. I guess this is why this picture is really important for me. Be the bridge’s or the river’s symbol a banal thing, to me it means my relationship to my family, my youth, and arriving home to the neverending Great Hungarian Plain.
