"Tree of life" is a modular system for the hospital environment, formed by vertical and horizontal modules. The vertical component, one for each bed, is equipped with connection for medical gases and electrical sockets for personal needs of the patient. The horizontal module has a linear LED lamp, a mini-spot LED for a point lighting and a electrified rail. It was decided to include these accessories for guaranteeing a high degree of application flexibility. One of the ideas behind the concept in fact, is to achieve a suitable level of lighting both in terms of quantity and quality, without using direct sources of light. It was chosen to use a LED product that can change its color temperature, from 2700 K to 5000 K, and mark the rhythms of the day in the building, bringing benefits not only to patients but also to medical staff. The electrified rail allows to hang useful accessories in the wards, as a reading lamp, provided for each bed, a blackboard for plates or speakers for music distribution. Finally, to ensure the safety of the patient during the night, a mini-spot LED lamp is inserted in the lower part of the module, aimed towards the wall behind the bed. The panels inserted in the front of the horizontal modules are made of a flexible plastic material, so they can be removed for maintenance purposes or simply to give a different appearance to the environment. The lighting system can also be used in other areas of the same hospital, such as hallways and waiting rooms.
