I created a sitcom sketch character to flog NatWest bank accounts to students
NatWest came to us with a challenge; they wanted to promote their Student Accounts using only social media and digital channels, for the first time.
This was big - every year, student acquisition is a huge event in the banking calendar. Why? Research shows in many cases; when you open a bank account as a student you tend to stick with that bank for a long time.
INTRODUCING THE DEAN OF DOWNTIME
We knew NatWest's Student Account offers were good...but not unique. Their point of difference was that they offered was a choice of perks, rather than only one. So all we needed was a way to highlight this.
Our character, 'The Dean of Downtime', did just that. Each episode he would appear in student scenarios, humorously analyse what he saw, and recommend a NatWest Student Account perk to improve it.
HERO FILMS
FRAMED FOR VERTICAL
We knew the media plan required almost all assets to be vertical - so, on set we framed our shots to be vertical, and ensured we were making the most of that space.
