火は人類最大の発明であると言われ人に熱や灯りを与えてくれる。
昔であれば拠点の印であったり共同体文化の発達にも大きく貢献している。
人は火の発見・使用・応用により生活における人間らしさを形成していったのである。

「火鑑具」は手間を経て着けた火を鑑賞し、楽しむ道具である。
火を着けるまでの手間はある種の儀式のように感じ、ものとの対話が生まれる。
この時間によって自分と外界の空間が分けられ、着けた火を鑑賞する個人的な時間が見る人を癒してくれるのである。

Fire, the greatest invention to mankind, provides us heat and light.
In the course of history, it has been used as symbol as well, and contributed to formation of community cultures.
Our humanity has been developed through discovery and application of fire.

“Hokangu” is a tool to make a fire in an elaborate way and enjoy watching it.
The procedure of making a fire is designed like a ritual, which prompts you to dialog with products.
Being dissociated from the external world during the process, you gain a heeling effect by deeply and privately watching the fire.
