AUTO-PILOT

Illustration
autopilot

this project talks about the lack of reaction of a person in conflicting situations
and the state of regret and resentment that installs afterwards.
it had a very personal meaning, that is why i chose to use self-portraits for the figures.
if you look close enough, you'll see that i used embossed symbols to represent the
harm that is being done to the figures, but in a very quiet, almost invisible way

the figures in "autopilot" reduce the human body to a black, homogeneous blot,
focusing only on a few elements of physiognomy and the expressiveness of hands
to capture the moment of freezing, interfering dramatically with symbols
that sum up a coherent image of oppression.

the project consists of five 88x130 cm linocuts and a smaller triptych

special thanks to YAP studio (www.yap-studio.com)
for the professional photos. (it was very hard to try and capture the white embossing on camera)
