My gradutiation work – illustrations to the fairytale Little Longnose by Wilhelm Hauff.

Little Longnose
Illustrations to the fairytale from Wilhelm Hauff
This is my graduation work – done way back in the past.
All illustrations are made with watercolours in many layers.
I studied the way of living in the middle ages, their clothes, furnitures and houses as well as the paintings of the old masters.
You see an overview, some of the many sketches I did to test colours, light situations and posings. The white spaces that appear in some illustrations as kind of funny and unlogical where placed for extra lettering. For the final work I did the lettering too, but don't have any records of it anymore.
Hope you enjoy the images.
