Hubert and the Ornaments

Progress Shot
I'm including this low quality render to show that I checked the values to make sure my composition was going in the right direction. The right amount of contrast in values creates good interest, and if the values work, the colors will.
Dust and scratches filter applied to do the "squint test". Learned that from Dice and Robert's light and color class. The value groupings are creating a dynamic composition.
Compositional flow lines. The red lines all flow around the main focal point of the bird, and they all bounce off of the blurry foreground ornament. The green all show the lines that flow to the bird. The could easily be a focal point, if the contrast in light and dark were switched, but since the bird is in higher contrast, it's the natural focal point.
