Book Design: How to Walk Away by Katherine Center
No Photographic Imagery or Illustrations. Maximum one color plus black & white. Rules and/or shapes may be used in one of the three designs. The final designs must display a title and author. May include additional elements such as a subtitle, quote, endorsement/review, publisher info, or volume number. Must have at least 20 sketches. The size of the book is 6x9.
The idea behind this design is to have the title acts as puzzle words. By copying and rearranging each letters, I was able to create a hierarchy at the top of the book, leading the viewer's eyes down to the author's name.
With the idea of wanting to get away, I used the circle to create an illustration of a balloon and the term 'away' acts as the string of the balloon.
By using the quotes directly from the book, the text wraps created a cluster phobic environment, trying to trap the tittle at the center of the book
