Mission: Impossible - World Cup Promo

Background story and aim

Ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, I was preparing to make a promo video from the perspective of the greatest player on the planet, Lionel Messi. Having failed to win anything with his national side Argentina, this was speculated to be Messi's last ever shot at winning the much desired World Cup trophy. I was very excited to make a promo featuring Messi's highs and lows with his country, and the aim was to hype people up for the upcoming event. Twitter user @Fiction_Mayank sent me an idea with a possible theme for the video, featuring the latest Mission: Impossible trailer. I really liked the concept, especially considering winning the World Cup really seemed like an impossible mission for Messi, so I went with it.
Content

The result contains some background on Messi's previous World Cup failings and it's discussed if he can really be the greatest ever without a World Cup title to his name. Doubts are raised over the current Argentina side, and Henry Cavill's line from the trailer "How long before a man like that has had enough?", is shown as Messi leaves the stadium after having seen his nation being destroyed on the pitch. There's commentary talking about how Messi could become the Messiah with a win, and that this surely is his last ever chance to do that. Finally, the video showcases his three goals to take Argentina to the World Cup finals, which is seen as the climax of the video.
Final thoughts

The video was uploaded on the 4th of June 2018, after a few intense days of work. I am happy with the visual side of the video, and I think I suceeded in making a great trailer ahead of Messi's World Cup dream. However, I'll admit the sound editing is a bit clunky at times, and that I should have killed my darlings when it comes to certain sound clips. Overall though, I am pleased and the video received positive criticism along with over 200,000 views.
