BOOMERANG I FATALIST KLAAS

The illustration is based on a Dutch politician, Klaas Dijkhoff of the VVD, who has made statements in the field of climate and immigration. During an interview with a little boy, who threatens to be evicted with his parents, the politician said something like 'so what' (Ja, dus?).

He also has a bad view of the climate and is in favor of nuclear energy.

That's why you see in his glasses one glass-reflection of Nuclear reactors and one glass reflection of a child near the border (grens in Dutch translation).

‘Zwartkijker’ here means something like fatalist.

This illustration is made during the election of local governments where each party promote what they stand for. The colors and style is of the same like a VVD-election poster. And the white jacket with logo on it is also typical for campaigns.
