Dimensions: 1400 mm x 730 mm x 1860 mm
Function: temperature, humidity and air flow control, water heating.
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) are three strongly related fundamental functions carried out in any type of accommodations to ensure climate control. As homes are becoming more and more airtight and energy efficiency requirements are becoming stricter, the demand for climate control equipment is rising. Recently there has risen a need to integrate these industrial looking machines into a home environment.
Industrial shapes of Brutalism architecture were the main inspiration for the design of "Glacier II". In the process of design’s creation, the choice of manufacturing methods influenced appliance’s design as much as the design influenced the methods. The angular shapes gave way to use metal sheet folding, but the sheets had to be folded in a way to hide seams and the rivets connecting them.

The lines of geometrical shapes point to the main and most important point of the appliance. That way the user can intuitively identify the location of its control panel and comfortably use it at an eye level. In the area where the control panel is, the lines and edges continue onto the door handles and can be easily spotted, but are unreachable for small children.
One of the main essences of this HVAC system appliance is that the equipment consists of two separate units. The right one can be used separately as a final product from the left unit. In addition, the modular design makes it easier to transport the appliance when both parts are purchased and delivered to the place of installation and operation.
