The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring Summer happens during early October each year inside the grand Hall 18 at Pragati Maidan, one of the largest exhibition venues in the country. In the 2012 edition, we got a chance to design the grand finale set for the extremely talented designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna.
The set was designed to be in tune with the collection presented in monochrome hues with a touch of reflection. The stage backdrop consisted of five large revolving cuboids with a pattern of mirrors which turned to reveal huge LED displays between them. Sharp silhouettes of the models against LED screens came into the light as they walked in from between the boxes. The ramp had a central strip of mirrors with smoke rising from under the floor. The lights filtered through the smoke and reflected in the mirrors presented a surreal experience.
