An eye for an eye for an eye. My process for creating this design came from my adoration for Frida's process of turning her pain into art. In relation to this, I went on a personal journey of not expecting a perfect piece of artwork, but accepting that at times one must allow themselves to get ugly with their process. One must break the traditional rituals of creating, and just let go. Whatever happens...go with the flow.
A Frida within a Frida. It took trial and error to finally narrow down the choice of factoring in this specific part of the illustration. I want the viewers' attention to be focused on the minute intricacies that convey the reflection of self. This is meant to be an introspective piece for the audience.
Nature is an essential component and recurring theme throughout. I have introduced earthy tones and symbols to show how grounded Frida is in her pose, gaze and energy. Her overall appearance is balanced, regally peering at the audience from her throne, adorned with a elegant floral crown and thorn necklace over her shoulders.
I enjoy using a complimentary color palette, which  emphasizes the vibrancy in my art. Once again I have highlighted the use of natural elements. A crown of floral and foliage, on a luscious Hawaiian Monstera leaf backdrop.
