The Ordina is not an ordinary stool it also functions as a puzzle. It is a modern a twist on the Hungarian folk-tradition of “lucaszéke”. Said tradition involves the creation of a stool made from 13 different types of wood. It requires the craftsman to work tenaciously in order to achieve order in their soul and be able to complete the chair. In our frantic, stressful modern lives too, the activity of solving a puzzle can bring about a sense of accomplishment and peace of mind. Like its inspiration the Ordina is also comprised of 13 pieces of wood held together by 8 metal rods. It contains both traditional and modern elements, clean and rough characteristics, which are in stark contrast to each other. This duality gives the stool its physical and creative balance.
