FLAVOUR SAVOUR
When employed by Morphy Richards, our designer worked on the development of the Flavour Savour, a slow cooker that allows the user to seal the meat, add ingredients and provide a stew in 4-10 hours using the same pan.

Extensive testing was required to achieve a unit that could provide enough heat to seal the meat and use the same element to provide a low temperature to cook stew.
Specific legislations regarding abnormal use were also accounted for during testing and development. Temperatures around touch points had to all be considered during the design including sufficient drainage for spillages. Material selection was obviously important too in such a compact space where the elements are left on for long periods.

The main challenge was to allow the internals to fit within a compact design without effecting the overall cosmetic. Details such as space saving storage solutions of the cable and main unit were designed and reviewed with prototypes.

The project provided valuable experience in the product design of innovative products in the small domestic appliance sector.
