'HOUSE ON THE TREE' - site specific installation / University of Warsaw Library, Warsaw [ I - XI 2010 ]

‘The House on the Tree’ was located in the green part of central Warsaw- the Powisle district, at the University of Warsaw Library.
The installation consisted of two parts: one house was perched on one of the library’s trees, while another was hanging in the library’s main atrium.The aim of the project was to strengthen awareness of the role trees have in people’s lives and to initiate social dialogue
about sustainable development.
The location of the installation – The University of Warsaw Library – a place where the young generation are being educated – was not
a random choice. The building’s unique roof gardens symbolise aspirations for harmony between humans and nature.
The house did not burden the tree. It was made from a very light material - the Forex boards, resistant to water and other atmospheric conditions.
