Owl SpinRing: 3d-Printed Fidget Toy

Owl SpinRing
Student Project 2011

Design Brief: Design a useful product which can be downloaded and printed with home 3d-printers.

Design problem:
Some people naturally and unconsciously fidget. Fidgeting can manifest in habits like finger tapping, leg bouncing, playing with hair, small objects and clothing. These “bad habits” can be distracting or annoying to others. Fidgety people find it helpful to keep a fidget toy: a small object that can unobtrusively carried around and fidgeted with.

Outcome: Owl Spin Ring, a fidget toy. Features a spinning head and body. Scalable design and manufacture by 3d-printing ensures perfect fit for all finger sizes.
