Women's History Month began in 1987 after the National Women’s History Project petitioned to change "Women's History Week" to a full month in March. We worked with Joel Burden – an UK based illustrator – for a series of illustrated portraits of note-worthy women that had shattered barriers, including Selena Quintanilla Perez, General Lori Robinson, and Oprah Winfrey.
