The Spa Beach Controversy
Produced, written and edited by Vanya Tsvetkova in 2016. In partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of Master of Arts in Digital Journalism and Design at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg.
In 1958 eight black college students decide to knock down the barriers of racial segregation by going to a popular whites-only beach. The beach issue had been a matter of controversy for years as the Sunshine City learns to become more tolerant in racial and social terms.
Sweetwater Organic Community Farm
Produced, written and edited by Vanya Tsvetkova and Krista Gutierrez in 2015. This documentary short was created as part of the Electronic Field Production course at the University of South Florida.
At Sweetwater Organic Farm in Tampa, Florida, community members can collaboratively grow produce and experience a connection with nature. The local also provides educational opportunities through a variety of community programs, including hands-on school field trips and volunteering. The seasonal Sunday Market is a place where you can reenergize through morning yoga, blissful music and healthy foods.
