Mixed Cargo Art Exhibit
A Green Art Exhibit

In a move that elevates the ports green efforts, the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) has partnered with the Art Guild of Orange Park (AGOP) and the Society of Mixed Media Artists (SoMMA) to create Mixed Cargo, an environmentally-friendly art exhibit.

Meredith Fordham Hughes initiated the exhibit, donating about 200 unused copies of its 2008 Annual Report to artists from AGOP and SoMMA. The award-winning booklet features images by the late photographer Kelly LaDuke as well as recycled papers such as Strathmore Deckled Edge, Glama Natural and Domtar Cougar.

"With this art exhibit, were not only preserving these inspiring images and wonderful papers," Meredith Fordham Hughes, JAXPORTs Manager of Creative Design. "Were also bringing together artists throughout Northeast Florida and educating the community about the importance of the port to the region."

Northeast Florida artists have created a port-themed collage or mixed media piece with at least 50 percent of the content originating from JAXPORTs Annual Report. Artists toured JAXPORTs Blount Island Marine Terminal in July to further enhance their knowledge about port businesses and cargoes.

The judged exhibition will be on display at the following locations:
