Unexplored Territories

Unexplored Territory, a series of contemporary jewelry inspired by one of my hallucinations that took a form of an experimental jewelry, handcrafted in copper and real eggshells. The hallucination captures a struggle of life and death in a nest where the dead nestling still waits for the day when it could fly, all it wishes is a pair of wings to fly.
Jewelry: Neck piece
The neck piece is handcrafted with an idea to symbolize the beauty of life and death, where the eggshells capture the development of a bird, nourishes it and then comes the destiny play, a beautiful flight and a rejoicing chirp or a nestling decomposing and jostled by its very own mother.
The growth and flight depicted by eggshell and metallic bird flying, and a silent death symbolized by a skeletal motif in a dome shape.
Techniques involved: Welding, stone setting, fret saw cutting, doming and rhodium plating.
Jewelry: Ring
The ring is handcrafted with an idea to symbolize the utter brutality of nature i.e. death to the young nestling, in the contrast of a beautiful life that occurs ahead of cradle, where the cradle of a bird is symbolized by an eggshell, portraying the usual part that we perceive the beautiful birds and flight, while the small sadness that a few nests hide, the dead nestlings jostled down. At times unconventional hallucinations change the perspective.
Techniques involved: Welding, enameling, fret saw cutting, doming and rhodium plating
Jewelry: Collar pin
The collar pin is handcrafted with an idea to symbolize the flight of young nestling, the elements used are a full fledged wing, and a skeletal wing which represents the desire to fly free.
A life denied to a body, a race of life lost as a nestling, a wait even as a lifeless skeleton, a chance to fulfill the dream.
Techniques involved: Welding, fret saw cutting, granulating and rhodium plating
Jewelry: Bracelet
The bracelet is handcrafted with an idea to put the contrast of life and death as part of existence in a tag like shape to represent the perseverance of humans what we see we believe what we like we imagine but the bitter part of existence everybody ignores for the peace of mind, the wings depicted by the creating wing like texture with crushed eggshells and skeleton of wings depicted with fine fret saw work.
Techniques involved: Welding, fret saw cutting, doming and rhodium plating
