Tesla Pod - Support Equipment - Design Master's Thesis

Tesla Pod is my Design Master's Thesis which consists of a Modular Autonomous Electric Platform for the Transport of People and Cargo through urban areas.

The Drone Arm is a Mechanical Arm designed for the purpose of removing the modules and Transporting them between the Platforms and Tesla Valets. It has three joints, just like a human arm, controlled by hydraulic actuators and backup electric motors, in order to avoid system failures and provide high precision. The Arm has a rotating male end effector with three redundant connectors, in order to achieve a safe connection and support during the transportation and attachment procedure.
The Arm possesses all the necessary sensors for complete autonomous movement during the transportation and installation of the modules, avoiding any stationary and dynamic obstacles.

Everything in this Thesis was designed, modeled, rendered and edited by myself.

Tesla Lifter is an autonomous forklift designed to be used with Tesla Pods commercial module. It has LIDAR, Ultrasonic and Optical sensors, in order to be able to travel through a warehouse autonomously, without the intervention of a human, allowing for total autonomous loading of the modules. It has the same side screens, electric motors, and batteries as the Tesla Valet and Drone Arm, in order to reduce the cost of production


Tesla Valet is and autonomous vehicle design for the transport and parking of the modules in the Tesla station. the vehicle is symmetric and has the same electric motor, batteries and side screens as the Tesla Lifter and Drone Arm, in order to reduce production cost, in order to reduce production cost and allow for a large number of Units per station and provide quick and steady response to the user transport requests. It has front and back LIDAR sensors and optical sensors all around its body, in order to travel through the station autonomously, as well as V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) Communications, so that is can control its movement in relation to other Tesla Valets, allowing for continuous, unobstructed movement throughout the station.
