Foraminifera are unicellular, mostly microscopic creatures that carry housings.
The benthic foraminifera are by far the largest group by number of species and comprise around 10,000 species.
The majority of living species are between 200 and 500 micrometers in size, with the smallest species measuring only up to 40 micrometers and the largest up to 12 or even 20 centimeters.
Only about fifty species live in freshwater, all other inhabit marine habitats from the coasts to the deep sea.
(From wikipedia the free encyclopedia)

It takes hours to find the small foraminifera in the sand and sort them out.
I photograph each foraminifera individually under a microscope
Each picture consists of about 20 single images, which are summed up with Heliconfocus.
Afterwards i combine the single images with Photoshop to the complete image

Thank you for your time.
