RIGHT IN YOUR FACE  |  BOUKE PETERSON
the art of collecting people
Though originally I received my education as a painter at artschool, gradually I moved from paint towards the camera. Basically the drive is still the same: making images that make people stop in their everyday hurry, take the time to watch what's going on inside my pictures.

One of my key-activities is portraiture: on location and in my studio. The interaction with the people I portray, trying to get the best out of it, searching for the most interesting lightconditions, painterly setting, interesting composition, is what keeps me going on. This is my attitude towards all photographing: with respect to my
subject, whether it's people-, nature, landscape or productphotography, I try to make the best out of it: the art
of making strong images.
