Anjaneya swamy temples kerala
Anjaneya also referred to as ‘Hanuman’ is an important figure from Ramayana. As per the book, he is the ultimate devotee of Lord Rama. He assisted Rama in searching and finding Sita Devi when she was kidnapped by Ravana of Lanka. He further helped him to defeat Ravana and managed to burn down half of the Coastal City of Lanka in the process. The name ‘Anjaneya’ comes from his mother Anjana. Anjaneya is believed to be the son of Vayu, the god of wind. Hence the name ‘Vayuputra’. When Lord Rama was expelled from his country for 14 years he found Hanuman during a forest journey. Lord Rama was accompanied by Sita Devi and Lakshmana during this journey. It was during this period that Sita Devi got kidnapped by Ravana and the subsequent events leading to the destruction of Lanka happen.

After the war, when the time came for Lord Rama to ascend to heaven, Hanuman and several other disciples wanted to leave with him. But Hanuman was specifically asked to remain on Earth as an immortal, as an example of a perfect devotee to Rama. It is believed that Hanuman penned his own version of Ramayana called ‘Hanumadh Ramayana’, and later scrapped it.

Even if he was a Demigod, it was hanuman’s nature to remain humble, loyal and always unrelentingly devoted to Lord Rama. Hanuman Upasana is believed to be highly effective for devotees to gain health and wealth. Being an immortal, Hanuman is believed to be living amongst us. There are many famous temples in Kerala with Lord Hanuman as the chief deity. Sri. Datta Anjaneya Kshetram in Aluva, Kerala is a perfect example for this. It is one of the most renowned Anjaneya Swamy temples in Kerala. Hanuman’s followers worship him as a god that is amongst us in these severe times of Kali Yuga.
