Halifax Law Court Plaza

The Law Court plaza is an important civic space on the Halifax waterfront. A green roof elevated above adjacent streets, the plaza is used as gathering space and events as well as Court functions. Repairs to the structure required replacement of the aging landscape, providing opportunity to update the space to better serve modern uses. The new design draws inspiration from the unique geometry of the space and pulls in elements of the street grid below, strengthening the connection to the city context. Promenades enhance the entry areas and guide visitors to key locations to enjoy views of the waterfront and Citadel.
