This is a story of war, or, to be more precise, the legendary tank T34.

Having been captured, the main protagonist plans an escape using the tank. He gets his crew together and challenges his enemies to a battle.

We worked with two huge Full СG environment sequences with very large volumes.

Working on 60+ fullCG shots we started form developing the look based on the aerials filmed in Czech Republic and the neighbor shots on location in the cut. We started developing the look of the shots in parallel with previzes

We analyzed our results as far as previous projects were concerned.

As a result, we arrived at a decision to develop more perfect instruments for work with large sceneries and locations. That is how we created our own toolset, which we called Taiga. 

Taiga allowed us realize 100% of director’s vision. We created Full CG area(10 by 10km) with  fields, hills, rivers and forests. This region mimics fragment of the Czech Republic in 1942 where the events of the film took place.

This toolset allowed us react to the director`s notes quickly and flexibly. We were also able to approve layouts and shots on the preview and get them literally in real-time from the viewport playblasts.  We quickly snatched the necessary patterns of plants and props from the interactive libraries and instantly transferred them straight into the viewport.
