In 2018 I've been twice in Azerbaijan and once in Georgia. Trip through both of these countries gave birth to the combined name of my route: Gruzerbaijan (Georgia is called Gruzia in russian).
So here I'm happy to show you my Gruzerbaijan sketchbook! There are 23 sketchbook spreads I filled during my trips. Most of them are made with watercolor and liners, with a bit of watercolor markers.

This sketchbook is A5 Maxgoodz Classic Aqua, I customized it a bit with rounding corners by myself. The paper is not a special watercolor paper, but quite thick and smooth. I definitely like how it works with watercolor and ink. However it's not so good for watercolor markers, that's why I switched here to watercolor completely.

Originally it was used as a place where caravaners could stay. Now it's a restaurant there, but still has authentic look.

Gobustan — national reserve not far from Baku. Full of ancient petroglyphs, rocks and snakes. If you turn your head right from this spot, you'd be able to enjoy the view of Caspian sea.

Shaki, a city in northwestern Azerbaijan. Was an important point of the Silk Route.
Train from Shaki to Baku. It was a crash on a railway (no one harmed), so this way took 14 hours instead of 8.
