COTORREO FEDERAL ©, is a Mexican association and music festival promoter of the underground latin music scene like cumbia, sonideros and perreo. "Cotorreo" is a Mexican jargon which means party, reunion, and wherever there's a lot of people and music.
This solid logotype was developed as a satire to the Mexican political institutions and taking as reference their pictorial style.
The task were to create a pretty Mexican logo with part of it’s history on it, so I also took mesoamerican references on ancient Mexican culture, for example, the Jaguar God and the geometric and rectilinear match that has in its composition.
The iconography that accompanies this identity consists of an abstraction of pop culture and the 90's to get to a young target (20-26 years old), relying on ASCII Art files registered until 2018.
