"A New Suit for the Doc"
CarDoctor was a client of a clients and wanted to refresh their website and touch up some key aspects of their brand. They wanted to expand their operations and needed their brand to catch up with the rapid growth of their business, in order to attract new partnerships and usher in a new era.

CarDoctor has been operating for more than 20 years and has a rich history to boast along with a great reputation in its local community as a leader in excellence and quality. The business had undergone some new changes, the most notable being to its model and new leadership.

With that came a few strategic hurdles and obstacles, but CarDoctor was able to overcome all but one of these obstacles and set into motion more ambitious plans. However, this one obstacle needed to be dealt with before the brand could leap onto the next set of opportunities; and that obstacle was its branding.

The business and its brand were not synchronized. The brands imagery, visuals and website were somewhat outdated and had never been refreshed to meet the market places overall shift toward more contemporary design trends.

The copy was never reworked or personalized for its audiences and as a result, created a tone of voice that seemed cold, distant and uninviting. It was very “matter of fact” and felt like it made no effort to reassure or even educate its potential audiences in anyway.

For this challenge, I took a “copy first” approach and started by figuring out what themes stood out. It occurred to me, after the preliminary research and data collection phase of the project, that the words “Car” and “Doctor” provided the best opportunities to express this brands true identity with in the local community.
