Founded by Afonso Arrepia Ferreira, Pedro Menezes and Teresa Cristina, ØØ:NEKYIA extends its veil worldwide, erasing both artistic and physical barriers. This core unifier of voices creates an open space for all forms of creation and expression to thrive, a physical and virtual sphere where human beings have the possibility and freedom to exteriorize, together.

I was asked to develop the visual identity for the Lisbon-born artistic collective whose action happens mostly through the creation of a platform for experimental soundscapes to exist, especially from genres of electronic music like noise and ambient, while also supporting other artistic expressions such as installation and performance art.

Their first event was the release of the album-compilation HYMN which comprised of 27 tracks from 27 sound artists/musicians worldwide. HYMN is the first compilation released by the collectiv, gathering artists with unique, distinctive voices into a single entity that reaches beyond individual realms into a unified human choir. The artists gathered here were invited to trace a path into the neural connection that unites us all as humans. It aims to shape a path for a future in unison.

The album release, at Rua das Gaivotas 6, was accompanied by an installation by portuguese artist Pedro Gramaxo. The light work between the piece, the strobes, the thick, blinding fog and the ever-looping HYMN compilation created an unforgettable ambience.

The graphic material for the event included the compilation cover, the event poster and header for Facebook, posters for each artist, informative flyers and a promotional spot that aired at Canal 180 and Canal Q (a collab with Pedro Menezes and Afonso Arrepia Ferreira from the collective).
