The goal with this work was to talk about an important topic which needed more awareness. The conversation here is about people who work in the trades and why the world needs them.
All of this was accomplished with the use of printmaking techniques and tools, such as hand carved linoleum. The process involved designing the text on the computer, and hand drawing in the details that exist with the body of text. The decision to use linoleum instead of a screen printing process was made due to the level of hands on work required with this process, providing for better metaphoric representation of the amount of hands on work people in the trades do on a daily basis.
