Here is a piece that has been really interesting to make, its a color version of a pencil drawing, that i placed into pro-create and worked onto and into in layers. I wanted to make a painting from a drawing, not trace the drawing, use it as a foundation for something else.

I used textures that i collected myself on the Isles of Scilly (IOS), south west of my home in Cornwall. I used photographs of the waters reflection as i stood in the shallows of briar Island and the succulents that grow over there also provided textures. The textures are used as a basis for drawing into the image and drawing out the detail, without losing a natural feel. I want it to be hard for the eye to settle, unresolvable perceptually, so that it is more like looking at an ancient piece of stone.

I set this up so i can print it A2 any not lose any detail, that way i can really create fine detail by zooming in when making the image, but also ensure that is seen at scale so it shows up well.
