LEGO Playtables
Our initial objective was to undertake R&D to experiment with LEGO, projection mapping and computer vision. This evolved into creating three variations - Dino, Arctic, Underwater - for five LEGO Discovery Centres around the world.
The tables feature projected 3D animations of dinosaurs, polar bears, fish and much more, mapped to the physical forms of the LEGO models. Additional layers of interactive animations and sound FX could then be triggered using motion capture cameras. Also included are animated touch-screen instruction manuals, guiding guests to build themed models brick-by-brick.
