The parameters of this project were to create and brand a bilingual three day festival. The visual language was to be applied to multiple mediums to promote and inform the audience of the event. After brainstorming a few different ideas of possible events to brand, designing for a virtual reality festival was both exciting and challenging due to its wide range of possibilities.
The poster design was to be created first so I began creating sketches and digital renderings to build upon. The dotted, colourful graphic used throughout the event's branding is a representation of the digital experience. Haptic feedback can give the sensation of tingling or vibration, therefore the pattern was intended to mimic this sensation. I used Adobe Illustrator as well as Adobe Photoshop to create the artwork and assets, and use Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro for the motion graphic promotional video.
