TOPIC : LOVE THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT.
BOOK: THOUGHTS OF TREASURE DAILY DEVOTIONAL.
Jesus replied:“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a]38This is the first and greatest commandment.39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.(Matthew 22:37-40).
Paul writing in 1 Corinthians 13:1 made this remarkable statement, He said "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing."As great as the gift of prophecy is, and the ability to understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and the faith that can perform all miracles or move mountains. The Bible says, if you have no love, that you are nothing. So many pay more attention to these things than the most important qualities. Love is so important in the kingdom of God. Jesus said in John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. Hallelujah, and you can not know God without love. God is love and 1 John 4:8 says, Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
The scripture talks about two kinds of Love: Agape and Philadelphia. And these two kind of Love is among the 7 qualities the bible listed in 1 Peter 1:5-8 for us to add to our faith in order to have a productive life. Philadelphia is Greek and means kindness, brotherly love,or brotherly kindness. So the Bible says Let brotherly love continue.(Hebrew 13:1). It is the sharing love. So I share what I have with you. Learn to share with others. That is Philadephia. We share together, I have something and we share it.
The second one is from the Greek word Agape and some bible translation uses the word Chaity for it. It is love that is affectionate or benevolence. It's charitable . It is self giving love. Agape is not sharing, it is I give to you. I sacrifice mine for you. It includes everybody. We can love everybody because God loves everybody.
God loves everyone. The Bible says.."For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.(John 3:16). God SO love everyone. He loves the worst sinner on earth, He loves everybody. The question is, can we the children of God love like God? Can we love everyone? Emphatically yes and that's what God expects from us. In Matthew 18:21-22 Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?"Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven . Hallelujah, Jesus said 70x7 which is 490 times, you will agree with me that someone has to be in partnership with the devil to be counting wrongs done to them by an individual in a day for up to 490times or more. So you see, there's no scriptural ground for you not to forgive anyone. That person you are holding grudges for and saying to yourself you will not forgive, have they offended you more than 490 times in a day?. I am challenging you today, take this step of faith and say to that person I love you, you can pick your phone right now or anytime when available and call that person to say, I love you and I have forgiven you. Glory to God and God bless you as you do this. We can forgive everybody because God forgave us.

6.IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO WRONG YOU MORE THAN 490 TIMES IN A DAY, FOR YOU NOT TO FORGIVE.(Matthew 18:21-22)
7. WE CAN FORGIVE EVERYONE BECAUSE GOD FORGAVE US.
PRAYER.
Father, Thank you for teaching us how to give and how to love. From your Fullness I have received grace upon grace and I love everyone that comes to my world because you are love and to know you is to love others. Amen
