Revitalization of synagogue

The synagogue in Bydgoszcz, Poland, was built in the first half of 18th century. Today, it's
an abandoned building with great potential due to its rich history and convenient location.
My idea was to create a multi- purpose space where locals could experience art genres such
as theatre, exhibitions or workshops. I wanted this place to be available for disabled people,
that's why I designed a ramp instead of regular stairs. The slipway became also a strong point
in a composition and determinates the interior design. Minimalist style was my strongest
inspiration as it provides the best conditions for art events, especially exhibitions and displays.
This project gives a new life to this building in accordance with its identity and its past.
